Positive: The hostel is located in a beautiful setting. It's remote so be prepared to drive on unpaved roads. There are animals roaming about the hostel, 2 dogs and a cat which is nice. But they often go into rooms and roam about freely. So I wanted to flag this in case someone doesn't feel comfortable around animals. One of the dogs is a large bernease mountain dog. The staff were nice. They spoke little English and with the Spanish we had, we were able to get by. Cash only hostel.

Negative: Overall our stay here was not great. The hostel did not meet our expectations. We had booked a two night stay in a private room. The hostel contacted us to say the private room was only available for 1 night, so we agreed to go into one of the shared dorms. We have often used shared dorms and I have to say, this one is not equipped for it. We were in a mixed dorm, on the higher bunks. There was no ladder provided to get into them and the beds were not very comfortable. The whole bunk wobbled and moved anytime you turned on it. There was no space provided to store your things in the room. There was one shelving unit but it was full of bed linen. There were no lockers provided either to lock items away if needed. Only two plugs for the whole room also. The facilities provided overall are not enough to deal with the hostel capacity. The hostel has two 6 bedded dorms and two private rooms. In total it has capacity for 16 people. It was very full on both nights we stayed. There is only 1 shower and 2 toilets for everyone to share. One of the toilets does not flush and the shower has only cold water. The kitchen has one small fridge and was overflowing. The kitchen utensils are minimal for cooking. There is only one oven and stove. The hostel could do with another fridge and stove for the capacity it holds. The building appears to be unfinished in places and poorly fixed up in other places. The whole place could do with some TLC. To add insult to injury, on our second night here the hostel owners appear to be holding or hosting a party of some sort. From around 7 till after midnight the hostel had people coming and going, music playing and people in the kitchen constantly either cooking or talking. Unsure if this was open to guests as we were not informed about it. Our room was right over the kitchen and you can hear everything. We did not get much sleep either night and we booked this as a calm, relaxing stay at the end of a busy road trip.

Summary: Would not recommend. Expensive for what it is.
